Absolute Manage was a popular cross-platform systems lifecycle and Mobile Device Management (MDM) software platform. Originally acquired by Absolute Software (now known as Absolute Security) in 2009, it allowed IT administrators to monitor and deploy resources to PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices from a single console.
In October 2015, Absolute Software sold the Absolute Manage suite to HEAT Software. It was subsequently rebranded back to its original name, LANrev (and later integrated into Ivanti), allowing Absolute to pivot its corporate focus purely toward firmware-embedded endpoint information security. Core Legacy Features
When it was actively deployed, Absolute Manage stood out for its true cross-platform functionality:
Application & License Management: Tracked software installations to help companies maximize license usage and avoid non-compliance compliance fines.
Automated Patch Management: Centrally managed and deployed operating system and application updates across all endpoints.
Computer Imaging: Provided automated backend processes to deploy complete operating systems and baseline software packages, especially for Mac devices.
Asset Inventory: Gathered more than 60 distinct hardware and software data metrics from network devices for third-party CMDB reporting.
Mobile Device Management: Supported granular control over corporate data using features like AbsoluteSafe, which let school and business administrators secure file distribution on iPads and mobile platforms.
